Chris is an Advocate of the Royal Court having previously qualified as an Ecrivan. He is a member of the Law Society of Jersey (and currently serves as a Committee Member), an ordinary member of the Jersey Family Law Association, a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association). Chris also serves as a Legal Member of the Criminal Injury Compensation Board.
Chris specialises principally in family law matters. This includes advising on all aspects and consequences of the breakdown in family relationships whether from the perspective of the parents or the children.
In addition Chris advises on the financial consequences and impact on both the adults and the children following separation. He handles contact and residence issues for children and the contested relocation of children outside Jersey.
In addition, Chris has been involved in advising on the enforcement and variation of orders made outside Jersey within the island and the potential impact of orders made by the Royal Court in Jersey outside the island.
Chris is a member of the specialist panel accredited to act for parents in public law children proceedings (care proceedings, emergency protection orders and adoption proceedings).
In addition to the Public Law practice Chris is also a member of the Mental Health Advocates Panel and assists individuals with regard to issues surrounding admission to hospital (either voluntary or otherwise), issues about mental capacity and consequential issues as to long-term care and support.
